Introducing Zoë Taylor
September 19, 2013 by FIG
Zoë Taylor, Knitwear, McQ A/W 2012, 2012, Faber Castell Pitt Pastels on paper, 29 x 21.5 cm
We are delighted to announce that we are now working with Zoë Taylor.
Taylor has made work for The New York Times, The Guardian, Dazed and Confused and produced a large body of work for ‘In the Cut’, a fashion column for AnOther Magazine’s website, anothermag.com, drawings from which we are making available here on our site.
The imagery is typical of Taylor’s work in that a narrative weaves its way through the pictorial plane provoking questions but little in the way of answers. There’s a darkness to her work but it’s not entirely without light and it’s this tension created in finely rendered coloured pencil and ink that attracts.
Also featured below in this blog post are spreads from Luella Bartley’s book, Luella’s Guide to English Style published in 2010. Our photos show Taylor’s mono-prints from her series, Tribes of Britannia and coloured pencil works from the series Birds of Britain, both made for the book.
Soon to be launched and to be showcased at Multiplied are two new FIG Prints by Taylor: Swimmers 2013 and Flowers 2013.
