Recent cool projects by FIG artists include a contribution by Zoë Taylor to the Marc by Marc Jacobs Resort 2015 collection and a Tanya Ling designed peekaboo bag for Fendi.

Brit designers Luella Bartley and Katie Hillier asked Taylor to make work for their second MBMJ collection. Taylor has previously worked with Bartley on Luella’s Guide to English Style. We’re told that the collection was inspired by the Mercury 13 group of women who trained to become astronauts only to have the program cancelled. Fly me to the moon: Taylor creates atmosphere with ink.

Ling’s invitation came from Sylvia Fendi. To celebrate the opening of Fendi’s new Bond Street store 10 ‘Iconic’ women joined forces with the brand for the Peekaboo Project. The Peekaboo is a Fendi best seller an icon amongst luxury handbags to rival the Birkin and Bamboo Shopper. The idea was that the Peekaboo would be redesigned by The Iconic 10 and auctioned off for Kids Company. Ling was naturally thrilled to have been chosen and have the chance to utilise the iconography of her Line Paintings for such a very good cause.
